Octolab TV
Добавлен 7 апр 2018
Our mission is to learn more about the most magnificent creature on our planet, the octopus. Our research is strictly limited to observing their behavior. At no point do we place any of our animals in harm's way. Our priority is, always has been, and will always be the well-being and health of our octopuses.
Every octopus is different and unique. They all have their own personalities, likes, dislikes, and moods. This is why we believe that no single experiment is enough to come to any conclusions. However, by sharing our videos with you, and observing their behavior collectively over the next few years, we hope that together we can come to conclusions that will help us and the rest of the world better understand and appreciate this majestic creature. We strongly believe in making this a group effort.
We hope you enjoy our content and look forward to sharing more videos with all of you.

Octopus Reacts to Kitchenware - Episode 17
In today's episode of octopus reacts, Willie is taken to a place no octopus should ever visit under any other circumstance. A kitchen!
The octopus in this video is Willie. He's a very curious and adventurous little octopus that leaves no stone unturned. One of his arms was completely severed off when he arrived. The regeneration stage we see here is nearing 1 month in. It takes them about 3-4 months to fully grow back an arm and enjoy full functionality.

Octopus VS Man - The Shell Game - Object Permanence Experiment
Просмотров 35 тыс.2 года назад
In today’s experiment, we take a look at the octopus’s ability to understand that an object is still there even when it is out of sight. Object permanence. We do this by providing Dennis, our octopus, with a fun little exercise. We show our octopus a delicious snack, and then hide it under one of the three cups. If he's still interested in locating the snack once it's hidden, it’s a good sign t...
Octopus Experiments with Picture Clues - VIEWER REQUEST
Просмотров 19 тыс.3 года назад
Can an octopus understand what is behind a wall or door based solely on a photograph? This is the request that was sent in for today's video. The setup was simple. Place the octopus in the middle chamber. Have two openings. One side has a photo of prey while the other has a photo of a predator. The opening is placed strategically on the wall in order to provide a big enough blind spot. This wil...
Octopus Reacts to Water Pump - Episode 16
Просмотров 17 тыс.3 года назад
A water pump has many uses. But did you know that it can also be used to help octopuses shed the skin on their suckers? Neither did we! What started out as free massage turned into a full blown exfoliating session. In today's episode of Octopus Reacts, we placed a water pump in the experiment tank. We opted for a 0.5 HP pump. Enough pressure to get Albert's attention without stressing him. We w...
Octopus Explores The Box of Mirrors - Viewer Request
Просмотров 17 тыс.3 года назад
In today's video, we'll watch Albert, our octopus, explore a box of mirrors. This was requested by one of our wonderful viewers. The Request I'd like to see how an octopus would react if he was placed in a room with many mirrors surrounding him. The Setup One way to set this up would be to place small mirrors all around the aquarium. Hypothesis I believe the octopus will try to hide from all th...

Meet our little Wunderpus, Patrick. This little guy weighs about 20 grams and is about 8 inches in length, from one extended arm to the opposite one. He's missing a couple of arms but it shouldn't take him long to regenerate them in our care. Unlike most of the residents here at Octolab, this little guy is not set to be released. We're hoping to get a little more insight on his feeding habits a...
Octopus Reacts to Flashlight - Episode 15
Просмотров 11 тыс.3 года назад
It always amazes us when we see animals using tools. This is a sign of intelligence that cannot be ignored! Our octopus was fascinated by the flashlight the moment we shut off the lights and placed it in the tank. He spent a little time exploring the flashlight and its beam of light, and then he did his best to light up his den by pointing the flashlight right at it with pinpoint precision.

Comprised of fours species, much is still being learned about this magnificent creature. Like many of the vi...
Octopus Reacts to Wig - Episode 14
Просмотров 15 тыс.3 года назад
Many of you requested a reaction video with a wig in the comments section of previous episodes. This seemed like a great idea so we took a bright pink wig, rinsed it thoroughly, put it on a mannequin head, and lowered it into the observation tank with our octopus. We expected him to carefully explore the wig. Some of us even went as far as predicting that our octopus would pull the wig off of t...

Teaching an Octopus Through Video - Octopus TV Room - Episode 2

We know that octopuses are intelligent. We know they're very capable of learning to perform tasks that they would never encounter in the wild. We've seen them clearly react to a TV screen in episode 1 of this series. Why not try to teach these little guys how to do something by using video? On the first day, we placed the octopus into the experiment tank with a clear, plexiglass box. The only w...

I’d like to be… under the sea… in an an octopussy garden with you
Due to the combination of strength, dexterity, and intelligence of an octopus, as well it's ability to squeeze into small areas and can survive awhile without water, they are one of the creatures most likely to escape an aquarium, and you need to take special precautions to keep them from breaking out.
If the box cannot open how did they/how will they get crabs in/out of there ?!?!?! Lol #oops just killed crabs
Unexpected turn: octopus googles some other octopi channels to see what they did and he had to do it quickly because he was late for a physics class
I would like to know if Rudy learns. If given the same test, does he escape faster?
I have always felt that nipples were the solution regardless of the problem.
Very intelligent animal's and quite beautiful as well. The animal kingdom is way smarter than human beings and they don't destroy their environment like we do. It's time to elect animals to govern our world if would be a better place to live for everything 😊❤
REQUEST ! Buy an magnetic board for him and try to learn to draw a crab, once he did it then you give one ... its gonna take time but i think he will enjoy the painting experience if you leave inside the magnetic board the hole day! the board im talking is something like this ruclips.net/video/erxiMoDJddQ/видео.htmlsi=BAWu9it_Q0yT6hy- and try to show this video to him of a crab painting... ( maybe its too much for the first time ) ruclips.net/video/41BdExpGUMY/видео.htmlfeature=shared but if he learns to draw some letters or basic pictures, then you have a way to comunicate with him !!! 😮 I think that if it takes 1 year to learn it worth it anyways 😂
What the heck was being blurred out in the title sequence, just above center screen?
This is cruel
In this test, isn't this a natural advantage the octopus has being skeletous and ambidextrious, a curious mind to remember how things work after a single try, they never forget. Do they comprehend meaning?
❤so cool
2:28 Okay, I never expected a sleeping octopus to look so cute :,)
In a tit for tat over his favorite meditation barrel, octopus uses scraps and rubbish from experiment to build time machine, goes back 40 years and prevents scientist's parents from meeting for the first time.
The octopus pretty much went for the standard mammalian way of solving problems. A bear would just say fuck it and break the thing too. Same with most humans, if they get frustrated enough…
Nel tempo che ha capito come fare io lo avrei già fatto bollire con le patate..! 😂
Home Sweet Home! 🙂
Each octopus tentacle has its own brain.
I just so happen to be half Japanese but I don't eat octopuses anymore. My conscious won't allow me to eat these intelligent creatures. 😊
I thought he was Hearing the sound feeling the vibrations aswell as going higher up the tank after the frequency’s got higher thinking It was reading higher pitches with body language All at the same time
9 utensils for 9 brains?
I know a woman....
Remarkably Bright Creatures, by S. Van Pelt
Are any efforts being carried out to determine their character recognition capability? My money would bet that they could be trained to link runes or short words with physical objects.
Do they give up?
What I’d like see is if you put a crab in the cage with the tube in, would it remember how to enter it for its dinner? That would then tell us that they can apply logic and have a memory.
Does the octopus see these challenges as a game? Is there some form of communication between it and the scientist?
Don't tell me rip off the pacifier head trick...
What a retard
Waiting for him to flip off the experimenter at the end. LOL
These creatures are stuff of nightmares. I can't even look at this video for too long.
C'est honteux😱😡🫤🫤 laissez ces somptueuses créatures en paix au nom du ciel.....
Bull shit. Excuses. For bad behavior.
Wouldn’t it be much easy to tell me directly and openly. That way people won’t be misled and be played apone. For I think this language style is antiquated.
Cool octopus
Music is shit!
Use a jar next time please
Tentacles hentai in real life let's go🥵
Octopus: "I'm hungry... come closer, come and I'll taste you!"
Is this filmed at SpongeBobs house ?
ruclips.net/video/Lpjvify96dA/видео.htmlsi=N7G0JKKUjsbLRJcr
Love it. Don't mess with these guys!
Best comment section ever!
I wonder if it watched you unscrew the top if it would learn that. That would be more telling about it's level of intelligence. We know it can use force to get what it wants, but can it learn?
But it's not illogical to try moving the pacifyer part since it's sort of the only part than in itself can "move". ❤🤔
As all of you atheists marvel at the intelligence of that octopus, just remember that we are nearly infinitely more intelligent than a floating blob with 8 arms. Take responsibility for your own intelligence, & stop trying to prove that we are comparable to animals in intelligence.
He was missing a tentacle, I think he died guys 😭😭😭😭 Real question: did they cook him? If they did I’m unsubscribing
when finally the octopus pulls up the tube, perhaps you could hear his cry of joy "yeee I did it! Now I'll open the box and eat the crabs!!"
the octopus seems really scared and would like to run away and then a tentacle touched the hair of the wig and he had a bad feeling... plastic... maybe he got a shiver of disgust?
+1 for the octopus
